Job Summary
The Library Specialist Acquisitions is a member of the Acquisitions team within the department of Access & Discovery. The team provides fiduciary service in sustaining the librarys acquisition budget and intime access to all information resources that the library has purchased and leased. The specialist is responsible for duties to help manage the information lifecycle of print and electronic materials.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Assists with acquisition of library materials both physical and electronic including ordering receiving copy cataloging and shelf preparation. Processes invoices in a timely fashion and tracks expenditures to support budgetary decisions. Maintains accurate log of ProCard expenditures. Monitors usage harvesting via SUSHI as well as downloads usage data of electronic resources and uploads them to the unified library system. Maintains accurate holding records of materials including purchase orders cost usage licensing data etc. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School graduation or GED . Two 2 years related experience. Computer literate and technologically adept.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree. Coursework in library science or technology. Experience with library acquisitions or electronic resources management. Experience with the library tools such as Ex Libris Alma and Gobi. Experience with cataloging tools such as OCLC Connexion or WorldShare Metadata. Advanced use of Excel.
Work Schedule
MondayFriday; 8:00am5:00pm. This position may include nontraditional work hours such as nights weekends and holidays depending on the needs of the university community. Flexibility is required to ensure the department is appropriately staffed to satisfy all service needs. Professional development conferences and training may require travel and/or overnight accommodations.
