Role Overview

We are looking for a dedicated Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join our Finance team in Barcelona. This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate payroll processing benefits administration and compliance with Spanish labor and tax regulations. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external providers to deliver a reliable and employeefocused payroll function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately manage and process the monthly payroll for all employees based in Spain.
  • Ensure timely submission of social security declarations tax filings and other statutory obligations.
  • Maintain and update payroll records in coordination with the HR team and ensure alignment with internal systems.
  • Administer employee benefits including health insurance meal vouchers pension plans and leave tracking.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all payroll and benefitsrelated queries from Spanish employees.
  • Collaborate with external payroll providers and ensure service quality and compliance.
  • Support internal and external audits related to payroll and personnel expenses.
  • Monitor changes in Spanish labor law and tax legislation and adjust internal processes accordingly.
  • Prepare monthly payroll reports for Finance and assist in budgeting and forecasting personnel costs.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration in Spain.
  • Indepth knowledge of Spanish payroll legislation tax regulations and social security system.
  • Experience with payroll software HRIS tools and benefit platforms.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
  • Advanced proficiency in both Spanish and English (written and spoken)

Our job titles may span more than one job level. The actual base pay is dependent on a number of factors such as transferable skills work experience business needs and market demands.
