Educational Interventionist


Job Title: Educational Interventionist Contract Days: 10.5 months

Reports To: Director of Curriculum Instruction and Assessment Start Date: August 1st

Classification: Exempt End Date: May 30th

*consistent schedule between August 1stMay 31st; varied schedule during month of June

POSITION SUMMARY & PURPOSE

The Educational Interventionist will provide support to the instructional process by implementing intervention strategies and student success academically. The Educational Interventionist will focus on individual and group professional learning that will emphasize and assist student learning; assessment of student progress; and advancement of Brookside Charter School mission vision and values.

  • Build and maintain relationships with teachers administrators and students families with an eye toward working cooperatively to help students meet academic and other goals. 8.3


Curriculum and Instruction

  • Monitor the progress of students and identify students with learning needs 7.4
  • Plan and implement researchedbased instructional practices that result in increased student performance. 4.2
  • Guide the learning process toward the achievement of clear learning goals and communicate these goals to students. 3.3
  • Employ a variety of instructional techniques including media consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved. 4.2
  • Create positive relationships with students teachers and administrators. 9.1
  • Confer with and seek assistance from teachers parents and school administrators regarding possible interventions for students who need additional support. 7.6
  • Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law school policy and administrative regulation. 8.3
  • Be available to students and parents for educationrelated purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms. 8.3
  • React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned.

MINIMUM AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

*All requirements listed below are required unless otherwise designated as preferred.

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelors degree; advanced degree preferred.
  • Missouri Teaching Certificate or eligible for certification.

Experience

  • Experience teaching in an urban school environment preferred.
  • Experience teaching historically underachieving students with a record of positive academic improvement preferred.

Skills and Traits

  • Proficiency in Google Suite.
  • Candidate will be a passionate advocate for students and Brookside Charters mission.
  • Candidate will have a deep internal passion for ensuring that students meet and exceed academic standards regardless of socioeconomic status race previous academic performance or other challenges.
  • Candidate must have a desire to work in an urban school environment with the purpose of closing the achievement gap.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This position may require sitting standing and walking for intermittent periods as well as moderate dexterity in operating standard office equipment (e.g. computer printer copier).
  • This position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision hearing and speaking.
