The Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University Fort Wayne (PFW) invites applications for a tenuretrack assistant professor position in civil engineering starting in August 2025.
Candidates must have a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering and a Doctorate degree in civil engineering or closely related field with focus on structural engineering. This position will require teaching and research. The successful candidate will teach courses such as but not limited to traditional structural engineering and civil engineering materials. Applicants for the position are required to have a strong commitment to teaching and to provide classroom and laboratory instruction. In addition the candidate shall have the ability to establish and sustain an active research program in the area of structural engineering and to attract external funding that leads to publications in scholarly journals. Candidates are also expected to participate in service activities at the academic professional and/or community levels. A professional engineering license or the potential to obtain one is highly desirable.
