The Operations and Supply Chain organization has an opportunity for a talented professional to join our team in a critical supplier engineering role within the New Product Introduction (NPI) team in Tucson AZ. The Principal Manufacturing Supplier Engineer will be involved in all aspects of planning and executing the production of our wide range of weapon systems from tactical missiles to strategic defense products. You will provide technical knowledge & process capability expertise to improve supplier performance. You will be involved in all phases of product life cycles beginning with proposal development new product development advanced manufacturing initiatives and continuing through production implementation. You will ensure technical data packages are complete and accurate and that the supplier technical performance meets the objectives of quality cost and schedule. You will drive Raytheon design requirements to improve manufacturing and quality capabilities of suppliers. You will initiate continuous and measurable design and process improvement of supplier hardware for affordability.

What you will do:

  • Communicate and translate the technical data package to suppliers
  • Conduct supplier engagements related to capability capacity opportunity and risk
  • Perform technical evaluations in support of cost and price analysis
  • Manage supplier requests for product and process changes
  • Manage product nonconformances
  • Drive root cause and corrective action
  • Prioritize and execute improvement opportunities
  • Communicate the technical health of our suppliers to stakeholders
  • Support travel as needed 25

Qualifications you must have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience working within manufacturing engineering supplier engineering or quality and / or other engineering discipline
  • Project / program leadership or team management / leadership
  • Experience with engineering drawings and diagrams (example: drawing change management revision control requirements review or validation etc.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications we prefer:

  • Experience with Manufacturing Engineering is strongly preferred.
  • Experience performing supplier assessments
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with typical hardware product documentation types (part and assembly drawings parts lists schematics specifications source control drawings etc.
  • Proficient in current TDP and Configuration Managementrelated protocols
  • Familiar with product structuring linkage within PDM Windchill
  • Familiar with 3D model types such as Creo STP IGS
  • Familiar with CCA TDP construct drawings and models and PWB artwork
  • Experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems purchase orders requisitions Mfg Bill of Materials (MBOM) material masters purchase requisitions.

The salary range for this role is 101000 USD 203000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
