Our Kinesiology program offers a robust curriculum with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology featuring specialized emphases in Exercise Physiology Sports Performance and preprofessional pathways in Physical Therapy Occupational Therapy and Athletic Training. We also offer a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology with concentrations in Physical Education Teaching and Kinesiology as well as a Master of Arts in Kinesiology.

As part of the Kinesiology team youll have access to modern facilities including faculty offices a multipurpose fitness facility and dedicated laboratories. Located near leading medical centers and beautiful outdoor environments such as Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks our campus provides the perfect setting for academic and professional growth. Essential Functions

Role:

  • Teach undergraduate and online graduate courses within the Kinesiology curriculum (e.g. nutrition research methods physiology of exercise biomechanics exercise testing/prescription strength and conditioning) or other Kinesiology program areas depending upon background and interests.
  • Develop and maintain an active scholarly research agenda that incorporates student research.
  • Mentor and advise Kinesiology students.
  • Maintain professional memberships and pursuit of professional development.
  • Contribute to departmental university and community activities and service.
  • Communicate Christian faith and demonstrate the integration of faith into the classroom.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to serving and inspiring students in an academic context that integrates your Christian faith and learning.
  • Embrace the mission vision and values of Fresno Pacific University affirm the FPU Faith Expectations and support the ideals and practices articulated in The Fresno Pacific Idea
  • Other job duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:


Preferred:
  • Specialization in exercise physiology biomechanics exercise testing/prescription or strength and conditioning.
  • NCSA Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist and/or ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist (or higher)
  • College teaching experience.
  • Experience in distancelearning or online teaching.

Environmental Conditions:
  • Indoors in a normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise dust fumes vibrations and temperature changes at least eighty percent 80 of the time.
  • Frequent computer use at a workstation up to eight hours per day.
  • Frequently work at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.
  • Drive personal or University vehicles to appointments.
  • Public contact position requiring professional apparel personal hygiene and grooming.

Physical Demands:
  • This position typically functions indoors in an office environment with light to moderate noise associated with business office equipment. The position may involve travel for meetings and events.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to: remain in a stationary position 80 of the time be able to move about inside the office to access file cabinets/office machinery etc. operate a computer and keyboard and other office productivity machinery such as calculators/copy machines/printers. The employee is occasionally required to position self to reach items on the floor and in high cabinetry.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Employee must be able to communicate with others to exchange information including both over the telephone and inperson communication with callers and community members and be able to read a computer screen and paper documents.
