Job Description
This parttime hourly wage position provides administrative and logistical support to the interdisciplinary Molecular and Cellular Biology graduate program. The incumbent will coordinate graduate student admissions orientation advising and funding for the MCB graduate program. In this capacity the position serves as liaison to the Graduate School Registrars Office Bursars Office and other appropriate university offices academic units and institutes. The incumbent will advise graduate students on administrative procedures as well as track grades evaluations and plans of study and maintain and secure graduate student files.
Required Qualifications
Experience providing administrative support including records management and scheduling or coordinative duties.
Working knowledge of graduate student advising policies and proceduresWorking knowledge of budgeting and fiscal proceduresExcellent organizational and analytical skills.
Excellent communication skillsAbility to multitask in a deadline oriented environment.
Experience working with a diverse group of people and with confidential material.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree in biology or related field or equivalent level of training and experience.
Experience preparing and managing budgets.
Experience using HokieMart.
Experience using Banner.
