Please review the following job description:

A first line of defense risk professional within the Governance and Controls Office (GCO) responsible for the and support of various risk programs including but not limited to the risk control selfassessment (RCSA) issues management and loss events. Utilize risk expertise to support the development and maturation of second line risk programs in alignment with regulatory expectations while balancing demands on capacity to execute program requirements successfully. Participate in discussions with first second and third line risk leadership.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed both major and minor which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • Influence and participate in the development and maturation of the firms risk programs to meet with regulatory expectations.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for ORM and ERM programs providing effective challenge as necessary to program updates and changes. Participate in all applicable training and working groups for the risk programs.
  • Communicate train and monitor adherence of business partners and GCO teammates for requirements and changes in risk programs; provide coaching on effective sharing best practices where applicable.
  • Act as a conduit between the GCO first line teammates and second line risk program owners/risk partners.
  • Deliver and influence recommendations for updates to relevant policies procedures and relevant RACIs playbooks and job aids for risk programs to drive consistency and efficiency in .
  • Establish working relationships with line of business leaders second line and third line of defense risk partners.
  • Communicate and present materials in various leadership forums and committee meetings as appropriate.
  • Mentor teammates within the risk team.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Finance or science/academic field or equivalent education and related training or experience.
  • Four years of risk management experience in business continuity or related field and/or equivalent education training and experience.
  • Broad risk and regulatory knowledge with an emphasis on: Credit Market Liquidity Compliance Operational Reputation and Strategic Risks.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to think critically and strategically multitask and drive change.
  • Strong quantitative governance and analytic abilities.
  • Ability to provide effective challenge to senior levels of leadership.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office software products.
  • Ability to travel occasionally overnight.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Finance or equivalent science/academic field.
  • Financial Risk Manager (FRM)/Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) or equivalent advanced risk certification.
  • Familiarity and experience with Archer preferred
  • Experience supporting Wholesale Banking helpful
  • Experience with Risk and Controls SelfAssessment (RCSA)
