If you are selfdriven and interested in providing environmental compliance support for the Citys Erosion and Stormwater Management Ordinances (MS4 then consider joining the Public Works Environmental Quality Services team as a Construction Inspector! Erosion and Stormwater Construction Inspector II Job duties include but are not limited to the following: Responsible for coordinating with contractors developers and builders to conduct routine Erosion and Sediment Control and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan SWPPP inspections for properties under construction. Must have the ability to develop positive working relationships with staff from Public Works Development and Permits and the VA Department of Environmental Quality DEQ to coordinate Erosion and Stormwater Management Ordinance and Virginia Erosion and Stormwater Management Program enforcement. Coordinates with City staff from Public Works and Development and Permits to accomplish goals communicate information and coordinate interdepartmental Erosion and Stormwater Management Ordinance enforcement. Investigates citizen complaints into Erosion and Sediment Control and Stormwater Violations. Prepares correspondence and maintains database reports and records such as erosion and sediment control routine inspection forms and SWPPP inspections records. Reviews erosion and sediment control and stormwater management construction design plans and sequence of construction. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
VOCATIONAL / EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT : Requires Associates degree vocational technical degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience in civil engineering environmental engineering environmental science or a closely related field. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT : In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standard this position requires a minimum of two years of related fulltime equivalent experience. SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES : Requires a valid drivers license and a driving record that is in compliance with City Driving Standards ; Certification as a Dual Erosion and Sediment Control and Stormwater Inspector within 6 months of completing the DEQ courses. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS : Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to shortterm department needs and/or Citywide emergencies.
