Tenuretrack OpenRank Faculty Position Director of Undergraduate Studies
The University of Kentucky College of Social Work which offers the BASW MSW and PhD degrees invites applications for an openrank tenure track Special Title Series faculty position to teach in the BASW and/or MSW program and serve as the Director of the Undergraduate Program beginning no later than the 201516 academic year. The position is a 10 month academic appointment with an additional time commitment in the summer months.
An MSW an earned doctorate in Social Work or related discipline a minimum of two years post MSW practice experience and a minimum of 3 years relevant administrative experience are required. Experience in CSWE accreditation activities program assessment curriculum development advising and teaching in a distance or webbased format is also required.
The successful applicant will have experience teaching at the university level and demonstrated ability to effectively fulfill administrative duties and participate in research and teaching activities. To be considered for associate professor or professor the applicant should have an established record of achievements in the areas of administration program development accreditation teaching and mentoring others service and scholarship. Applicants at the assistant professor level should demonstrate a beginning level of achievement in these areas.
The Director of Undergraduate Studies (DUS) oversees all aspects of the BASW program which is offered on main campus in Lexington KY and at offsite location in Hazard KY at the Center of Excellent for Rural Health. The DUS will be an active participant in BASW related academic affairs including but not limited to curriculum activities program assessment and accreditation activities. The successful candidate will work in cooperation with the Associate Dean of Academic and Student Affairs the Colleges Advising and Admissions Committee and the Student Affairs Officers to develop and implement activities associated with student recruitment retention and advising. The DUS also will serve as the advisor for the Student Social Work Association and participate in other studentfocused events. The DUS will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of the BASW curriculum and will work with faculty to develop and implement the undergraduate curriculum and will provide orientation and support to parttime instructors and other faculty teaching in the BASW program as needed. The DUS is responsible also for assessment of the BASW curriculum at the course and program levels and will work with the Associate Dean of Academic and Student Affairs in assessment /accreditation related activities.
