ROLE SUMMARY The Head of Furniture is responsible to oversee the furniture department from sales support right through to delivery. Whilst the role initially will be multifaceted and requires the individual to work on the ground across all disciplines this is a key role which we see evolving as the department grows and could lead to a more senior management oversight of the furniture team in the future.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the furniture team successfully and collaboratively during the precontract and delivery stages.
Work across departments to lead continuous furniture margin improvement throughout project lifecycle
Organise/attend site visits/surveys where required
Liaise with designers to review concept design and agree furniture brief
Specify product in line with designers concept to include imagery pricing and leadtimes
Review GA plans and take off quantities
Work with designers to create furniture mood boards
Produce clientready quotations in Excel or similar software
Liaise with fitout estimator/precontracts manager to integrate furniture costs into overall project budgets
Attend pitches and client meetings where required be able to competently articulate furniture proposals
Manage iterations and revisions throughout the process
Upon order liaise with suppliers on product details and place purchase orders
Liaise with precontracts and delivery team on programme and key dates
Liaise with client upon order including order acknowledgements/confirmation
Manage supplier leadtimes and delivery dates
Liaise with outsourced warehousing providers as required
Liaise with outsource fitting/install teams
Manage client expectations throughout the delivery process
Attend site at delivery stage as required
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 3 years of experience in furniture sales specification procurement or project management or other relevant role
Background in Design & Build or Furniture Dealerships preferred
A solid understanding of
The furniture industry in general
UK European and Worldwide furniture manufacturers
Planning and scheduling
Financially competent and able to compile estimates/quotations
A high level of fluency reading plans specifications and related project documents.
