Job Description

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

1. Routinely monitors and inspects the performance or condition of all equipment stations personnel run report data and schedules to ensure adherence to policies.

2. Monitors the daily scheduling and assignment of ambulance calls.

3. Monitors the daily scheduling of company personnel.

4. Participates in interviews of employment.

5. Coordinates the orientation of all new employees.

6. Assists with the evaluation discipline and positive motivation of all company employees under his/her direction.

7. Coordinates the repair of all company equipment including vehicles to insure no disruption of service.

8. Communicates effectively and tactfully with all staff and supervisory personnel regarding operational policies and procedures.

9. Insures that safety standards for the company are maintained and updated.

10. Coordinates the investigation of any work related employee injury.

11. Gathers all appropriate information involving internal and external complaints and forwards all findings to the Executive Director. Does not offer an opinion on any complaints both internal and external that may potentially put the company at risk or increase its liability.

12. Handles minor interdepartmental complaints between staff by serving as mediator to resolve the disputes.

13. Represents the company at meetings as required and transmits information to company management and staff regarding new development and trends.

14. Assists with the duties of the Executive Director in his/her absence.

15. Represents in a positive manner the integrity and philosophy of all company policies and/or decisions as determined by the Board of Directors officers of the corporation and/or management at all times when in the presence of subordinates or the public.

OPERATIONAL:

1. Monitors monthly employee schedule. Monitors the appropriate assignment of staff to ensure quality ambulance service and in accordance with company policies and procedures.

2. Responsible for identifying vehicle maintenance problems and coordinating the repair of vehicles. Establishes a preventative maintenance schedule for all company vehicles.

3. Supervises the Supervisors and Education Coordinator assuring that they manage their time and field personnel properly. And will perform other tasks as directed by the Executive Director.

4. Researches and prepares reports to the Executive Director regarding operational issues and strategic planning. Makes recommendations based on collected data and operational knowledge to the Executive Director regarding day to day operations.

5. Assures compliance with recognized standards regarding business and employment. Specifically assures that Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) COBRA OSHA and American Ambulance Association (AAA) standards are complied with effectively.

6. Remains proficient in Emergency Medical Services Management through continuing education and networking.

7. Maintains a valid State of Michigan drivers license.

8. Performs assigned functions for the Executive Director as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must have effective organizational skills.

2. Must have effective supervisory skills.

3. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.

4. Must have a thorough understanding of EMS System.

5. High School Graduate or GED preferably with college.

6. No felony convictions.

7. Completion of a state approved Paramedic course possessing a current Paramedic License.

8. Valid Michigan drivers license.

9. Must meet basic performance based physical requirements.*
