Summary
The position of the Structural Engineer level entails work including the evaluation of existing condition the design of structural repair and envelope of protection systems the management of bidding and construction processes field observation/verification of work in process and close client and contractor interaction.
Additional responsibility may also include conducting Milestone (MIP) and Structural Integrity Reserve Study (SIRS) required by newly established law (SB4D). If youre reliable have a good work ethic and can cooperate with coworkers and clients respectfully this is the position for you.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design construction projects
- Analyze engineering design problems
- Calculate engineering specifications
- Confer with engineering technical or manufacturing personnel
- Draw prototypes plans required for the job.
- Read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Use computeraided drafting or design software for design drafting modeling or other engineering tasks.
- Ensure conformance to building regulations.
- Evaluate construction quality
- Inspect project operations or site to determine specifications compliance.
- Interpret property for construction condition or design.
- Recognize construction industry codes or symbols or blueprints.
- Understand construction specifications.
- Understand engineering data or reports.
- Use field notes in technical drawings.
- Create mathematical or statistical diagram or charts.
- Draw maps or charts.
- Follow all company safety procedures and policies
- Other duties may be assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Florida Drivers License with an acceptable driving record (in accordance with our Drivers License and Motor Vehicle Record Check Criteria)
- Ability to pass a background check screening in accordance with Floridas Jessica Lunsford Act (or equivalent state classification)
- Must be able to read and interpret plans blueprints and specifications.
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering
- Active Engineering Intern License
- 3 years experience in the industry
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience completing structural inspections
- Ms in Civil Engineering
- Active Professional Engineer (P.E. License)
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Required to drive stand walk use hands to type handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance talk and hear; body motions and movements include bending twisting reaching stooping pulling kneeling lifting carrying and pushing
- Lifting and/or moving up to thirtyfive pounds regularly on average and up to seventyfive pounds on occasion with or without reasonable accommodation
- This job is located in Florida with exposure to intense sun intense heat humidity rain thunderstorms and other adverse weather conditions
- Job site conditions may or may not be accessible by vehicle and can include wetlands swamps grasslands and fields with uneven surfaces sand brush and other natural and manmade obstacles.
- This job is primarily and regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and construction sites where the noise level is usually moderate to loud
