We are looking for a working APU Crew Chief who is dedicated to both internal and external customers alike. Someone who is responsible for the effective and successful management of labor productivity quality control and safety measures as established.

This important position must be able to perform the following duties:

  • Responsible for the overall development planning training safety coordinating cleanliness organization part protection flow efficiencies standard times deadlines part needs subwork orders and travelers related to APUs LRUs components parts and tools.
  • Responsible for maintaining equipment related to area.
  • Responsible for meeting customer and contract turn times.
  • Responsible for communicating with other departments to meet task.
  • Responsible for time & attendance for each technician in the department.
  • Responsible for segregation of airworthy and nonairworthy parts and FAA and nonFAA components.
  • Participate in the hiring process of technicians.
  • Participate in the termination process of technicians.
  • Responsible for coaching and counseling employees as necessary.
  • Responsible for conducting performance evaluations for technicians.
  • Accurately complete work orders BOMs data inputs within ERP system.
  • Read understand and comply with Commercial FAA EASA Repair Station ITAR and ISO documentation.
  • Process proper tools.
  • Understand and practice safe and efficient productive use of tools.
  • Supervise personnel assigned to area of responsibility and monitor performance quality and quantity.
  • Responsible for verifying that all personnel assigned to their area of responsibility have been satisfactorily trained and documented to perform the task assigned to them.
  • Immediately report to any supervisor any safety quality or unethical actions or conditions they perceive to exist for immediate evaluation and resolution.
  • Operate maintain and service specialized equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by any supervisor in a professional manner.


Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED minimum.
  • Reading writing and comprehension of the English language.
  • Technical school courses in mechanic or machinist classes preferred.
  • FAA Airframe and/or Power plant license or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical and metal work required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required.
  • High level of integrity confidentiality and discretion.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Word Excel Outlook and Quantum preferred.
  • Make basic decisions and work with deadlines while understanding pressure.
  • Work with people and communicate (both oral and written communication) with other personnel and management effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to read write comprehend and comply with verbal and written work instructions.
  • Ability to write technical and accurate reports as needed.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in teams.
  • Familiar with safety requirements and practice safe work habits.
  • Lean Manufacturing and 5S experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Dexterity coordination and patience are helpful skills to have.
