In this exciting role youll be a key partner to senior regional leaders working closely with them to ensure worldclass safety standards for our IT team members across Amazons worldwide network. Through regular site visits youll stay closely connected to the daily realities faced by our frontline technicians using those insights to create impactful regional and global safety programs.
You will be empowered to own and drive safety programs from inception through implementation.
You will also own safety related projects and own the actions needed to deliver them.
Also supporting OTS daily safety routines you will lead rigorous investigations to uncover root causes develop actions and share learnings globally. Youll also spearhead engaging safety campaigns to embed a culture of safety awareness and ownership across the business.

Key job responsibilities
A successful candidate will be able to own and drive safety programs from inception through implementation.
The candidate will own safety related projects and own the actions needed to deliver them including narrative paper writing for executive leadership audiences.
Ability to solve complex problems that IT employees face. Including work at heights hazardous energy and battery safety.
Serve as a trusted safety partner to senior regional leaders across North America aligning on strategic priorities and tracking progress against goals
Conduct regular site visits to distribution centers sortation facilities and delivery stations to personally observe safety practices gather feedback from frontline teams and identify opportunities for improvement
Utilize insights from site visits to develop and update regional safety standards protocols and training materials that drive consistent bestinclass safety performance
Lead comprehensive incident investigations rapidly identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence share learnings globally to scale impact
Design and execute engaging safety engagement campaigns and events to foster a culture of shared ownership and accountability
Collaborate crossfunctionally with teams in Operations Engineering HR and beyond to scale successful safety initiatives and embed sustainable improvements
Monitor safety metrics analyze trends and present recommendations to senior leadership on priorities and investment areas
A day in the life
A typical day for our Amazon Safety Manager is anything but typical! You might start with a series of checkin calls connecting with regional operational leaders across North America to discuss emerging issues share best practices and align on priorities. Then you hop on a global project call collaborating with teammates from around the world to finalize a new safety training. In the afternoon you conduct a thorough incident investigation reviewing footage interviewing witnesses and mapping out root causes. You could spend time partnering with field leaders to develop action plans or working on a project to solve a complex problem.

The global OTS WHS team partners closely with Amazons IT function working backwards from frontline technicians and end users to identify safety improvement opportunities. We collaborate crossfunctionally to create policies drive standardization and enhance hardware all with the goal of continuously improving procedural safety across the organization. By remaining closely connected to the daily realities of our workforce we can develop targeted solutions that protect our people and empower them to work safely. 5 years of program or project management experience
Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
Experience owning program strategy end to end delivery and communicating results to senior leadership
5 years managing safety programs or teams.
Bachelors Degree in Safety Engineering or IT related field.
2 years of developing program strategies and plans diving and influencing senior stakeholders experience
Masters degree or MBA in business operations human resources adult education organizational development instructional design or related field
Safety experience supporting Data Centers or IT functions.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
