Job Description
Community Options Inc.is a national nonprofit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states.
We are in search of aDirector of Day & Employment Servicesbased out ofCamp Hill PA.The Directormaintains a highquality program to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You are responsible for supporting your team with daytoday operations and challenges to achieve our programmatic goals as well as developing employment opportunities geared towards all levels and needs for people with disabilities across Central PA.
Responsibilities
- Lead and train a team to support programmatic initiatives goals daily routines and the unique needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Manage and coordinate communitybased vocational and employment programs
- Supervise evaluate and provide direct support to Employment Specialists
- Oversee the development of employment and volunteer opportunities for individuals with disabilities
- Manage team performance through effective communication training performance management staff meetings and employee recognition
- Assist with processing and approving all billing in a timely manner
- Attend planning meetings for individuals and document follow up as needed
- Oversee planning and facilitation of weekly day habilitation activities
- Provide ongoing supervision and support for community integration
- Review all documentation of daily outings
- Assist in building a support network between the individual family members and the community
- Employees must cooperate with the licensee and department staff in any inspection inquiry or investigation
- Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors Degree preferred
- Knowledge of day programs supported employment and community services for people with disabilities
- Valid drivers license with a satisfactory driving record
- Complete all state and agency required training per state guidelines
- Team oriented with demonstrated leadership experience
- Experience with problem solving against multiple priorities
- Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals receiving supports
- Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
Working Conditions
- May be required to be oncall in cooperation with other management staff
- Frequent lifting stretching and other physical exertion may be required
- May be required to transport individuals utilizing your own vehicle or company provided vehicles
- May be required to lift or move 25 pounds
- May assist with wheelchair transfer of nonambulatory individuals
- Work will take place in day program and community settings
- May be exposed to various medical conditions and communicable diseases
