About Strescon

Established in 1963 Strescon Limited has grown to become the largest precast prestressed concrete manufacturer in Eastern Canada. The primary market covers the Atlantic Provinces the New England region of the United States and Bermuda. Strescon manufactures a wide range of both architectural andstructural precast/prestressed concrete products; including bridge girders wall panels complete parking garages hollowcore planking piling and deck slabs. Strescon presently has two facilities: 70000 sq.ft. in Saint John New Brunswick and 50000 sq.ft. InBedford Nova Scotia.

In addition to our precast facilitiesStresconopened astate of the art 32000 sq. ft. pipe plantin 2001manufacturingconcrete products for engineered drainage systems such as pipe manholes and catchbasins.

We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated Site equipment operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various equipment on site assisting with the movement of materials and product while maintaining an organized work environment. The position requires a commitment to safety and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

  • Moving materials around the site or storage facility as needed.
  • Load and unload trucks in both shipping and receiving ends at the plant
  • Ensuring loads are secure fastened and safe for handling.
  • Perform checks and basic maintenance on forklift shunt truck and frontend loader
  • Safely operate forklift front end loader and shunt truck.
  • Follow instructions and accurately keep records.
  • Pick up debris and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Working in all weather conditions
  • Complete additional task as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements

  • Must have own transportation (no public transportation available)
  • Ability to communicate in basic English (Both verbal and written)
  • Previous experience in the concrete and/or construction industry considered an asset.
  • Some experience operating front end loader forklift and shunt truck considered an asset.
  • Must be familiar with and adhere to service requirements equipment and operator limitations and safe operating procedures.
  • Ability to handle light and heavy loads.
  • CSA approved 8 steel toe boots
  • Willingness to work long shifts and extra hours
  • Commitment to following company safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Strong attendance record and a positive attitude
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team in a fastpaced environment.
