Job Description
Club SciKidz MD offers science and technology summer camps for children ages 415 years in Anne Arundel Baltimore Howard and Montgomery counties. We are hiring Jr. Counselors to work in our camps. The Jr. Counselor position is for high school students at least 16 years of age.
Our day camps run MondayFriday and staff are scheduled by the week. We ask for a commitment of at least 4 weeks. Staff hours are approximately 8:15am4:15pm and one before and after care a week. Pay for Jr. Counselors ranges between $460$470 a week and is dependent on their grade in school and experience working with kids.
We are looking for folks who:
- Enjoy working with children
- Want to gain more experience working with children
- Want to help children learn and have a fun science & technology camp experience
- Are reliable & hard working; have reliable transportation
- Can commit to work at least four weeks between July 14thAugust 22nd. We have another location in Anne Arundel County (Severna Park) with camp starting June 16th if interested in a whole summer of work.
Daily responsibilities include:
- Supervising campers
- Helping counselors & instructors implement the lessons and activities
- Helping keep kids engaged while maintaining a safe environment
- Have fun with what you are doing
- Being on time every day for your required shifts (you are scheduled by the week so you work a whole week (MondayFriday) for the weeks you are scheduled)
- Working with other staff to provide an excellent camp experience
