Job Description
The Department of Nutrition and Exercise Science is seeking a faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor at the Bastyr University Kenmore campus 15 miles north of Seattle. Bastyr University nutrition degree programs are unique in their emphasis on whole foods and multicultural political and ecological dimensions of food. This is a fulltime Faculty Position that includes didactic and clinical teaching and advising for graduate nutrition students. The position also includes a critical administrative role as the director of the Master of Science in NutritionDidactic Program in Dietetics (MSNDPD).
Responsibilities
- The director of the MSNDidactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) is responsible for program resource management course development and scheduling and the ongoing assessment of curriculum and program outcomes. The director is the Bastyr liaison to ACEND and is responsible for leading the accreditation process.
- Provide counseling and academic advising to MSNDPD students and advise and recruit potential DPD students
- Teach NES didactic and clinical courses on campus and at the Bastyr teaching clinic
Qualifications
Education: M.S. or Ph.D. in Nutrition or Dietetics and Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)
Experience: Minimum of three years teaching at the university level. Minimum of oneyear administration experience. Experience with program assessment preferred.
Skills and Knowledge:
Demonstrated excellence in inclusive teaching and advising. Excellent organizational and communication skills writingspeakinglistening.
Understanding of ACEND accreditation standards for DPD programs. Knowledge of spreadsheet and database applications nutrient database software learning management systems (e.g. Canvas) and electronic health records (e.g. Epic).
