Are you passionate about the law

We are looking for a legal innovator with 5 years post qualification experience to join our growing Dispute Resolution team in Sydney. You will have a passion for the law and be excited to work with market leading brands drawing on your past experience of complex commercial disputes. Finally you should possess a strong client service ethic work well as collaborative team member and know how to have fun at the same time!

The Team you will be a part of

Baker McKenzies Dispute Resolution Group is one of the Australian offices largest practice groups and has the depth of experience and accomplishment to advise and represent clients in all matters associated with complex commercial disputes. Our commercially pragmatic approach means we focus on the issues that matter to clients rather than simply managing the litigation process to a conclusion. We always take a strategic approach to disputes identifying and guiding the clients legal team on any available options to promote early resolution but never losing sight of the need to resolutely promote our clients best interests.

Our team includes some of Australias leading litigation lawyers each of whom is able to draw on the resources combined knowledge and experience of the global firms world class dispute resolution and litigation practice.

What skills and experience are a must have

  • Excellent communication negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong technical drafting and commercial skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and proactivity.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with clients.

What additional skills and experience would our ideal candidate have

Our ideal candidate will have experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • bribery & investigations policies & procedures risk assessments and due diligence.
  • sanctions advice.
  • trade compliance export and import controls.
  • antidumping matters.
  • property litigation.
  • working on commercial disputes for insurers.
