Purpose
CEEW seeks to hire a suitable candidate for the position of ProgrammeAssociate in the Energy Transition team to supportits efforts in enabling a peoplecentric energy transition by mainstreaminggreen jobs.
Since 2015 CEEW has put out estimates of the green jobs in variousclean energy sectors skill sets skill distribution across jobs roles and gendercomposition of the workforce. These insights have been a result of primarysurveys with industry stakeholders. The hired resource will be responsible fortimely and delivery of this exercise and evolve the programme inresponse to the emerging global conversations around sustainable livelihoods.
Job Duties andAccountabilities
Research projectmanagement and stakeholder engagement
Lead theproject endtoend by
o Developing new methodologies foremployment assessment in various clean energy sectors as needed
o Designing and executing the survey. Thisincludes but not limited to designing the survey instruments devising arobust sampling strategy training of the enumerators and coordination withsurvey agency (as needed)
o Analysing the data obtained using advancedstatistical methods to draw nuanced insights on workforce intensity nature of employmentskills trends and gender participation
o Developing highquality outputs such asbriefs notes and reports which could be circulated among the industryassociations state and central government officials and other stakeholders.
o Identifying relevant stakeholder andsecuring bilateral meetings hosting at least one public convening etc. to disseminateresearch.
o Staying updated with the current debatemarket developments and research around green jobs to design teams strategy andidentify the impact areas with senior researchers.
o Contribute to the teams efforts onshaping the discourse on green jobs through opinion pieces videos briefingsto government stakeholders and lead at least one such engagement.
Programme Assistance
Support theteam in development of overall programme strategy and its effectiveimplementation
Support in establishingmanaging and promoting relationship with existing and potential partners
Assist theteam in preparing applications for research and general donor funding
Selection Criteria
Qualifications
Strongacademic credentials preferably a Masters degree in Social Science withspecialisation in Economics Developmental Studies Sustainable Livelihoods PublicPolicy or related field.
Strongresearch background with an adequate understanding of research methods andquantitative techniques for data analysis
Soundunderstanding of Indias clean energy policies industry setup and skilling landscape.
Work experience
At least 45 years of relevant work experience in the field of researchand policy engagement.
Prior experience of survey design analysis and writingreports is a must. Experience with private sector engagements would be anadvantage.
Strong track record of team and project management including timelydelivery of outputs and stakeholder management.
