Radish Lab is a purposedriven creative agency shaping stories and sharpening brands for organizations improving the world.
We are seeking an experienced WordPress developer who is comfortable leading web projects. As a part of our development team you will work on numerous projects translating design into clean and consistent code.
As a WordPress Developer you will be responsible for developing and maintaining WordPress websites for our clients. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of WordPress Laravel Sass and JavaScript. Optional knowledge of the Sage theme framework is a plus.
As a remote position you will have the flexibility to work from anywhere. You will collaborate with our team of designers developers and project managers to create custom solutions for our clients. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills and be able to work independently.
Contract type: This is a remote fulltime contract position. No agencies please.
Location: Preferably Latin or South America. MUST be in a timezone within two hours of New York (EST). Others will NOT be considered.
Responsibilities
Bring to life carefully designed visual layouts and user interactions using WordPress and the Roots Sage approach to WordPress
Work to understand the design and functionality of a website in progress to be able to ask good questions of the project managers and designers early in the process
Support teammates and collaborate with a do what it takes attitude
Effectively prioritize and execute tasks
Display strong communication skills (both in person and in writing) while interacting with individuals with a range of technical understanding
Know when to ask for help

Job requirements
Must Haves / Requirements
5 years of professional experience developing complex WordPress websites
5 years of PHP and MySQL experience
3 years of frontend development experience using HTML5 CSS/SASS JavaScript frameworks
Experience with the MVC architectural pattern (Laravel CakePHP CodeIgniter etc.
Experience managing composer and node packages within a project
Experience working with a Continuous Integration setup
Experience working with a ticket manager and time tracking system
Proficient in responsive web design and crossbrowser compatibility best practices
Experience with git through the console
Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written English
MUST be in a timezone within 23 hours of New York (EST). Others will NOT be considered.
Nice to Have
Experience in an agency environment
Experience with the Roots Sage approach to WordPress
Experience with JavaScript libraries such as React Vue or Angular
Experience developing websites that meet WCAG AA compliance
Experience with Advanced Custom Fields
Bachelors degree in Computer Science
Interested in social change and engaged with causes
