Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Structures & Composite) Component Services Brisbane QLD
The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer is responsible for performing a broad range of aircraft component maintenance or modifications covering inspection repair and assembly of projects. The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Structures and Compositesis responsible for the overall project coordination as directed by the Senior Lead Hand or Operations Controller.
Description/Tasks:
- Ensure that maintenance is carried out in accordance with OEM and other approved publications/instructions using approved parts supplied from approved sources
- Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance at the direction of authorised delegates.
- Providing detailed communication to Operations Coordinator Project and Planning Teams on time to assist with progress updates with customers.
- Advise supervisors of work progress to be communicated.
- Monitor the identification of ASRs with supervisors and raising of work through administration.
- Report and raise any observations through the appropriate process with regard to continuous improvement safety management and customer satisfaction.
- Accountable for the creation and updating of work orders in a timely manner.
- Accountable for the writeup and signoff of work completed each day.
- Contribute to the request and management of tooling during projects within the hangar.
- Contribute to hangar facility and general project housekeeping in line with 5S Program.
- Contribute towards the identification and reporting of all OHS issues through Jet Aviation Safety Management System (Jet Safe).
- Monitor the use of tooling; ensuring that the tagging system is being used correctly with assigned individual tags.
- Monitor the notification of employee noncompliance as well as notification of own noncompliance.
- Other duties as may be directed by your supervisor to support both Company and Customer success.
Suitable Skills required:
- Dash 8 & ATR Leading Edge experience highly desirable
- Interpret and apply technical data specifications fabrication procedures and sequence of operations.
- Perform aircraft component maintenance and repair as required IAW approved data.
- Complete all necessary maintenance records and paperwork as required by CASA.
- Experience in composite and fibre glass component manufacture and repair
- Understanding of layup schedules in composites fibreglass materialsand mould making
- Excellent attention to detail
- Intricate hand skills

- Mould preparation / production
- Hand and power tool usage
- Layup & Lamination
Qualification/Experience:
- Composite based experience highly desirable
- Minimum Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Structures)
- Able to perform various types of aircraft maintenance.
- Experience working in an aircraft maintenance facility.
- Ability to work in a changing environments.
- Demonstrated understanding of aviation regulatory and safety requirements performing aircraft maintenance.
- Computer literate in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and Office Suite.
- Common courtesy and customer orientation
- Ability to work flexible schedules and in various weather conditions as well as meeting minimum physical requirements of the job
