Doorways are seeking volunteers with current working with children and police checks to be a part of our incredible team at one of our 2 sites on NSW Mid North Coast Kempsey or Port Macquarie making a real difference in the lives of others in our communities.
The Salvation Army Doorways program operates in both Port Macquarie and Kempsey with a focus on providing emergency relief to community members and through delivery of holistic support creates opportunity for change.
The Doorways model is aimed at engagement with community members through a nowrongdoor approach with a view to offer supports relevant to financial and material relief as well as opportunity for connection with case management and creating faith pathways. Our focus is healthy communities building capacity in others and addressing long term disadvantage.

As a volunteer you would be supporting our Doorways team by welcoming community members as they arrive responding to community via phone calls and at times making a cuppa for those in need. You may also be interested in assisting us to administer welfare vouchers (training provided) using your great administrative skills.

Time required
Minimum of 3 hours / week or as agreed with manager.
Qualifications and skills
Your confidence and interest in meeting new people is essential for this role.
Previous experience connecting with community members in a social setting or in customer service is desirable.
Confidence with using computers may be required for administration tasks.
