Olympic College seeks faculty who are dedicated to studentcentered learning and to fostering an equitable and inclusive educational environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a track record of employing culturallyresponsive pedagogy utilizing disaggregated data to guide instruction and teaching and mentoring minoritized student populations. Olympic College enrolls a racially and socioeconomically diverse student body of approximately 10500 students annually. Among them 4 are African American 5 Latinx 1 are Native American/Alaska Native 1 are Pacific Islander 7 are Asian 62 are White and 15 are multiracial. A comprehensive community college we offer instruction in Basic Studies to include awarding a high school diploma GED preparation and English to Speakers of Other Languages; academic transfer and workforce education degrees and certificates; four applied baccalaureate degrees and community education in our twocounty region.

TheRadiologic FullTime Tenure Track Facultyis responsible for providing highquality instruction curriculum development and academic leadership within the Radiologic Technology (RADT) program ensuring compliance with educational and clinical standards. This position reports to the Dean of Nursing and Allied Health. The primary purpose of this position is to ensure that students receive highquality education and training that meets industry standards leading to successful certification and employment in the field of radiologic technology.

Essential Functions

  • Teach and develop courses in the Radiologic Technology program including lectures lab instruction and clinical education;
  • Design implement and update course curriculum to align with accreditation standards and industry best practices;
  • Conduct student assessments using a variety of instructional methodologies and evaluation tools to measure learning outcomes;
  • Supervise students in clinical settings ensuring the application of theoretical knowledge to practical sonographic procedures;
  • Engage in academic advising mentoring and career guidance for students;
  • Participate in program accreditation processes ensuring compliance with institutional and accreditation body standards (CAAHEP JRCERT);
  • Maintain expertise in the field by engaging in ongoing professional development research and scholarly activities;
  • Contribute to faculty governance institutional service and committee participation;
  • Collaborate with healthcare partners clinical affiliates and faculty to maintain and expand clinical education opportunities;
  • Utilize learning management systems and technology to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes;
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes diversity equity and student success;
  • Participate in local events related to student recruitment and any other activities related to RADT Program and community outreach;
  • Collaborate with faculty to develop review and revise the programs curriculum to support current industry standards and best practices;
  • Teach evening distance and branch campus courses when required;
  • Provide quality teaching including related preparation grading and record keeping;
  • Provide class syllabi to students enrolled in classes by the first day of classes and to the division office as requested;
  • Identify individual learning needs of students and make appropriate adjustments in learning environments and activities;
  • Provide student advising for career/academic pathways mentoring and support;
  • Contribute to development of composition curriculum and student learning outcomes;
  • Contribute to the assessment of student learning and program outcomes annually;
  • Punctual communication with students faculty staff clinical partners and administrators;
  • Maintain physical office hours for student advising;
  • Attend faculty department and division meetings and serve on college committees;
  • Serve on appropriate college and community committees;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required

The Radiologic Technology Faculty ensures compliance by developing maintaining and shaping curriculum at the program level the faculty ensures that theRadiologicTechnology Program remains compliant with accreditation and industry standards competitive and aligned with industry needs ultimately supporting student success and workforce development.

  • The RadiologicTechnology Faculty position has authority to make key decisions related to curriculum delivery student evaluation and classroom management.
  • Faculty determine the most effective teaching strategies instructional materials and assessment methods to ensure student comprehension and skill development.
  • Faculty have full authority to assess student progress assign grades and determine whether students meet the academic and clinical competencies required for program completion.
  • Faculty oversee daytoday classroom and lab operations ensuring compliance with safety protocols equipment usage and handson training procedures. Faculty collaborate with clinical partners provide onsite supervision and assess student performance in realworld healthcare settings.
  • Course Faculty contribute to course revisions aligning content with industry advancements and accreditation requirements.
  • The faculty directly influencestudent success program quality and compliance with accreditation standards ensuring that graduates are wellprepared for certification and employment in the radiologic technology field.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Possess a minimum of a Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in Radiologic Technology Program;
  2. Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT);
  3. Two 2 years of recent clinical experience in radiologic technology;
  4. Have experience teaching and/or precepting RADT students;
  5. Ability to connect and build relationships with students and colleagues from various ethnicities ages backgrounds learning styles and abilities;
  6. Computer competency to include Microsoft Office Suites applications;
  7. The gross and fine motor skills required to assist students and providing safe effective radiologic imaging services;
  8. The physical endurance and ability to work in a clinical setting with students for 46 hours;
  9. The physical endurance and strength sufficient to assist students with providing radiologic imaging services; and
  10. Currently hold an unencumbered Radiologic Technologist license in WA state.

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Masters Degree in Radiologic Technology or related field from an accredited institution;
  2. Have experience with accreditation standards (JRCERT CAHEEP);
  3. Experience with curriculum development and Canvas LMS; and
  4. Experience working in a community college.

Faculty members mustsubmitofficial unopened transcripts to the Human Resources department within30 daysof their employment.

This is a fulltime faculty position contracted on an annual basis.Placement on the faculty salary schedule will becommensuratewith educational background and experience. The salary will be prorated to reflect the actual contract daysremainingin the academic year. The salary listed is a range based on per month for the quarter. A collective bargaining agreement exists and this position is covered by the Association for Higher Education (AHE).Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the department.Evening and/or weekend classes instruction at satellite Olympic College campuses and offcampus assignments may be a part of the instructional load.
