About the Division:
The Buildings & Grounds Division (B&G) is responsible for the Capitol Campus and Department of Enterprise Services (DES) managed building operations stewardship and historic preservation. B&G provides service to over 42 agencies maintains operates and preserves the 486acre state Capitol Campus in Olympia including more than 28 buildings 18 public monuments over 6000 parking stalls four state parks and a 260acre lake. B&G executes these responsibilities through the following service programs: Facilities Operations Grounds Operations Leadership and Admin Maintenance & Repairs Support Services (Custodial).
Some of what you will be doing:
Manage fire system administration to ensure all fire systems are properly functioning and remain compliant with NFPA IBC IFC local codes and regulations for inspection testing and maintenance. This position is responsible for ensuring the entirety of the myriads of fire sprinkler and suppression equipment installed across our buildings is operational. Additionally this position is the subject matter expert for all fire sprinkler and suppression related equipment and procedures.
Oversee program activities to complete code required inspection testing and maintenance of fire systems. Perform urgent and routine repairs as needed.
Acts as administrative liaison for fire program on projects with FPS LSS PPD City of Olympia and Tumwater to ensure that projects are completed on time follow code and are within budget.
Prepare and maintain records of alteration inspection testing and maintenance report as necessary to appropriate parties. Maintain all applicable reports plans recommendations and documentation regarding fire systems across DES owned properties.
Submit all test results and deficiencies through the thirdparty software The Compliance Engine. Testing results are to include a system overview testing procedures (hydrostatic pressure test flow test alarm test functional test and valve operation) observations and findings test results inspection and maintenance records certifications and signatures and any required supporting documentation.
Required Qualifications

Preferred/Desired Qualifications:
NICET II Inspection Testing and Maintenance of WaterBased Fire Protection Sprinkler Systems
Working knowledge of NFPA 13 25 and 101
Possess a valid Washington Backflow Assembly Tester (BAT) license
Ability to read and interpret fire sprinkler plans and blueprints
Basic Computer Skills including Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with Brycer Compliance Engine reporting software
Experience with clean agent fire suppression systems
Special Requirements:
Must possess a valid drivers license free of major violations
