The Opportunity
You will be responsible for integrating an existing machine learning (ML) model into a simple and intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) that provides in silico predictions for oligonucleotide molecules submitted by a user. The aim is to display compound structures alongside their predicted properties. The visualization of oligonucleotide structures is already implemented as an inhouse software application with an existing GUI and thus only needs to be extended with the additional component for predicted properties. This project will enable AIpowered drug design and contribute to the discovery of better and safer molecules for patients.
Who You Are
You are enrolled or have completed your Bachelors or Masters studies at a university preferably in the field of computational biology / chemistry data science computer science or a related discipline within the last 12 months and are interested in applying your knowledge in a modern working environment as part of an internship of at least 3 months and getting to know the pharmaceutical industry.
Furthermore you bring
Programming skills in Python and/or R including version control systems (e.g. Git)
Experience with software development (backend frontend)
Good knowledge of machine learning concepts
Understanding of chemical and/or biological data
