Overview
As a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant you will work alongside teachers to support students with diverse learning needs. You will play a crucial role in providing inclusive and accessible education to all students including those with disabilities and special educational needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to students with special educational needs including those with physical sensory cognitive emotional or social difficulties
- Assist in creating and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students
- Utilize British Sign Language (BSL) to facilitate communication with students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Collaborate with teaching staff and parents to ensure the holistic development of students
Qualifications
- A compassionate and patient individual with a strong commitment to diversity equality and inclusion
- Experience working with individuals with special educational needs and/or disabilities
- Knowledge of British Sign Language (BSL) is highly desirable
- Relevant qualifications in education special education or a related field are beneficial
DaytoDay
- Supporting students in the classroom and during specific activities or therapies
- Working oneonone or in small groups with students to provide targeted support
- Assisting in creating accessible teaching materials and resources
- Engaging in regular communication with teachers parents and external support professionals
- Contributing to the creation and implementation of inclusive and adaptive learning strategies
