Job Description
This is a fully remote role for candidates who are based outside of the New York Metropolitan area. For those located in the area we encourage you to consider our hybrid work arrangement 12 days a week in our NYC office). That said we value flexibility and if you have a different preference please do not let that deter you from applying lets talk about it!

Energy storage is the key to unlocking a future where our world is powered by renewable resources. At Convergent Energy and Power our mission is to make the electrical grid cleaner more reliable and less expensive by leveraging stateoftheart energy storage and distributed generation technologies.
The Business Development Associate is a member of the C&I Sales Team who will be expected to bring in new opportunities to fuel a pipeline of energy storage and energy storage and solarplusstorage projects for Convergent.
What Youll Do
- Bring in new energy storage and solarplusstorage opportunities by identifying and qualifying commercial and industrial leads
- Complete due diligence on potential opportunities by effectively mining organizations maps social networks and other publicly available resources to identify appropriate prospects
- Engage in daily outreach (cold calls emails LinkedIn messages etc. to find correct points of contact and convey Convergents value proposition over the phone and via email
- Lead discovery calls with customers and shadow senior sales professionals on the remainder of the sales cycle including proposals and contracting
- Keep our internal CRM up to date to reflect all call and contact details accurately
- Support the overall Convergent mission by assisting with other teams functions including marketing initiatives and team/company trainings
- Stay current on Convergent the competitive landscape and energy market trends
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- 12 years of relevant experience in sales recruiting or other customerfacing roles
- Prior experience and success selling to presenting to and persuading people
- Willing to learn new materials around distributed generation energy markets and electrical systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite including PowerPoint Excel Word Teams and Outlook
- Be a superior communicator youre an active listener with a high EQ
- Be organized you pay attention to the details take meticulous notes and read the fine print
- Be a problem solver you strive to be proactive in finding creative and unique solutions
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or other equivalent educational background
- Experience with Sandler Sales Training and CRM systems is a plus

Base Salary Range: $70000 $80000 per year Uncapped Commission. FirstYear OnTarget Earnings (OTE): $87000 $97000. Actual earnings may vary based on individual performance; Salary Commensurate with Qualifications and Experience.
