Job Description

Overview

Event Services is a growing department whose primary function is to assure events hosted by Utah State University Exceed Expectations. The primary purpose of the Central Reservations Coordinator (Coordinator II) is to support the Central Reservations Manager in scheduling room and resources across Logan campus. Secondary duties include completing departmentled special projects and supporting USU Catering Sales when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Answering questions via phone calls emails and inperson.
  • Directing visitors around campus or to their event.
  • Updating information in event database.
  • Collecting information for departmentled projects.
  • Wordprocessing for documents and reports.
  • Other officesupport functions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two years of office experience; OR an associate degree/vocational training.
  • One year in an environment working in a customer service position.
  • Proven record of selfmotivation and working independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Training in EMS (Event Management Software) and Coursedog.
  • Proficient in Microsoft or Google suite.
  • Customer service experience in building scheduling.
  • Experience working in a collegiate academic government or similar environment.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Communication Skills
    • Can clearly communicate via email with accurate grammar and spelling.
    • Can clearly communicate via phone and inperson with a friendly and professional demeanor.
    • Possesses excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to foster an effective working environment with supervisors coworkers and customers.
    • Can collaborate with various positions on department projects.
  • Selfmanagement Skills
    • Have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Have high level of independent initiative selfmotivation and a positive attitude.
    • Can manage and complete multiple projects with varying priorities and deadlines.
  • Hard Skills
    • Can operate standard office equipment such as a phone computer and printer.
    • Knows Microsoft or Google Suite products.
    • Knows or can learn department software including but not limited to EMS Coursedog Caterease and TPP.
    • Can perform variety of routine typing assignments including drafting and editing correspondence.
    • Can establish and update documents records and reports.
