About the role
Floodbase is looking for a Commercial Director to lead our commercial expansion in the US.
This is a key role responsible for leveraging Floodbases cuttingedge technology to create unique re/insurance solutions for private and public sector clients as well as an opportunity to join a growing company and build out your own team and distribution strategy in an emerging and exciting marketplace.
Heres what youll do:
- Lead Floodbases expansion in the US you will have P&L ownership of our US product and be responsible for identification and conversion of new business opportunities
- Manage Floodbases US network of brokers agents and other distribution partners
- Set the commercial strategy including pricing and launching of new products and programs
- Represent Floodbase externally at Broker Client and Industry meetings & events (position will entail travel activities including overnight stays)
Who you are:
- 7 years in the US re/insurance market with experience from a brokerage firm or underwriting company and/or in a business development producer role highly preferred
- Track record of success in placing insurance products ideally with a proven ability to close deals and exceed sales targets
- A demonstrable network of US broker agent and endclient relationships across multiple market segments
- Tenacious and able to provide clear examples of showing perseverance in leading internal and external stakeholders through complex sales lifecycle
- Experience managing multiple competing priorities and delivering in a structured and timely manner
- Committed to solving the climate crisis through practical and scalable means
- Bonus: US brokers license (active or renewable)
- Bonus: experience with placing parametric products
