Our client is a nationally ranked leadingedge bone joint spine and muscle care group providing outpatient care and inpatient care with 10 operating rooms 2 procedure rooms and a 42bed inpatient unit for patients undergoing more invasive procedures such as disc replacement spinal fusion or total hip and knee joint replacement. They are looking to add a Radiology Technologist (Surgery) to their organization.
Position Summary
The Radiologic Surgery Technologist takes images of various portions of the body by operating radiologic equipment according to developmental factors and age specifics under supervision and as directed by a Physician.
Schedule
- We are hiring for both a contract role minimum of 13 weeks and a permanent fulltime position.
- 4 10 hour shifts 7:30am 6:00pm weekdays with a flexible day off
- Location: Northside of Indianapolis.
- Total hours: 40.

Essential Duties
- Operates radiology equipment including but not limited to; OEC Carm Oarm Siemens AMX portable mini OEC and mini ortho scan. Operates radiology equipment with knowledge of the following; total joint placement and replacement ORIF and arthroscopic surgeries on all extremities spine general and physiatry.
- Intraoperative and postoperative portable imaging.
- Assists physicians with image guided injections under physician guidance.
- Passes medications needed during exams. Utilizes digital subtraction and angiography.
- Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
- Prepares and administers contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Observes patients during procedure. Monitors protocols and recommends updates or refinements as warranted.
- Performs specialized imaging procedures such as and nonvascular interventional and therapeutic procedures along with assisting the Physician or Advanced Practice Provider.
- Assists with image guided biopsies and radiofrequency ablations of tumors.
- Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines. Ensures all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
- Applies operating room traffic patterns and aseptic technique. Applies sterile technique principles.
- Complies to surgical attire.
- Assists with procedures and provide diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans on patients.
- Assists physicians with image guided injections.
- Assists surgeons in research projects.
Education
- Associates degree (A.A. (required).
Certification
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist certification (required).
- Indiana State Department of Health certification (required)
- BLS certification (required).
Experience
- 1 2 years experience (required); 1 year of experience in a surgical environment.
- 2 4 years of experience (preferred).
