SR. SOURCING SPECIALIST (STARLINK)
One of the most ambitious missions that SpaceX has undertaken to date the Starlink constellation is our solution to providing reliable internet to the entire world. The Starlink Supply Chain Department is looking for a Sr. Sourcing Specialist to support Starlink Ground Network team to grow Starlink into one of the biggest Internet Services Provider (ISPs) in the world. In this role you will be tasked with sourcing negotiating and contracting with ISPs Data Center providers IXs etc to stand up Starlink Points of Presence (PoPs) in existing and new countries of operation. This role requires a candidate who demonstrates total ownership of their respective territories can manage multiple international vendors from different cultures effectively can meet strict deadlines is flexible to adjust per the engineering team needs and is a creative problem solver. The functions within the department include sourcing new suppliers planning and strategy for each country with a Starlink PoP supplier development and quality negotiation of supplier contracts and pricing and developing strategy for each category.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Find and establish global supplier partnerships needed to acquire build expand and successfully operate Starlinks Network Infrastructure
- Source and manage Colocation space within Data Center facilities
- Work directly with crossfunctional teams including peering team legal NOC AP finance to design the ideal infrastructure for your region
- Source and contract various capacities on Submarine Cables connecting Starlink PoPs
- Manage relationship and hold business reviews with Key Global Suppliers.
- Negotiate MSA and other contracts with all suppliers.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree and 2 years of experience working in purchasing procurement material planning production planning supply chain management or engineering; or 4 years of experience working in purchasing procurement material planning production planning supply chain management in lieu of a degree
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in managing highspend portfolios (i.e. $10M)
- Experience managing an international supplier base or working internationally
- Selfstarting able to identify areas for improvement with minimal direction
- Experience with forecasting demand planning and lead time analysis
- Ability to tackle complex and ambiguous problems and define operational processes
- Detailoriented selfmotivated and able to respond quickly to a fastmoving and everchanging environment. Capability to prioritize multiple ongoing projects
- Strong track record for achieving results; must be able to reference wins and quantify impact
- Strong skills in data analysis using Excel SQL and PowerBI
- Effective written and verbal communications skills with strong ability to communicate to all levels of internal personnel
- Ability to learn quickly and prioritize appropriately to meet customer and company needs
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Willingness to travel up to 20 as needed
- Willingness to work long hours when needed to meet critical deadlines
- May need to work irregular hours with global suppliers in different time zones
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a casebycase basis and may vary based on the following considerations: jobrelated knowledge and skills education and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
