The Finance and Strategic Budgeting team within the Department of Climate Change Energy the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to lead the management and reconciliation of financial data across multiple entities within DCCEEW. As part of the central Financial Planning and Analysis team within Corporate and Enabling Services this pivotal role supports DCCEEW by delivering highquality financial analysis reconciliations financial reporting and forecasting.

About the role

As a Financial Analyst your role involves managing and reconciling financial data for multiple entities within DCCEEW. You will upload actuals and projections into NSW Treasurys PRIME system investigate variances between actual projected and budgeted figures and collaborate with NSW counterparties to ensure data alignment. Additionally you will prepare financial returns for Commonwealth initiatives. Strong financial analysis attention to detail and familiarity with government financial systems are key to success in this role.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and financial reconciliation skills
  • Experience in financial analysis data reporting and working with financial management systems (like: ERP and PRIME)
  • The ability to investigate variances and provide actionable insights
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with various stakeholders
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively
  • Experience in a government or large organizational setting is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and financial analytical skills for extracting and analysing financial information
  • Excellent organizational skills to handle multiple priorities and meet strict Treasury deadlines

Essential Requirements

  • Degree qualification in Commerce Business or similar field or extensive relevant practical experience.
