Job Responsibilities

Position Title: Blood Bank Manager

Shift: Day

Location: Hollywood FL

Skills and abilities of a Blood Bank Manager include:

• Effectively manages resources such as productivity supplies instruments and equipment. Plans work and completes job responsibilities in an efficient and productive manner.
• Effectively communicates with nursing and medical staff.
• Assists or provides monitoring and coaching of team members and provides input in the evaluation of team members performance.
• Reviewing policies and procedures.
• Review and troubleshoot quality control and equipment issues.
• Reports test results in a timely manner according to established laboratory protocols.
• Performs accurate and appropriate testing of specimens received in the laboratory according to established laboratory protocol and procedures.
• Observe and instruct student technologists and new or current employees.
• May provide supervision of a laboratory section.
• May perform method validations and ongoing method assessments.
• May assess competency of team members.
• Follows established procedures for laboratory quality control ensures compliance with regulatory requirements quality standards compliance activities and policies and procedures.
• Ensures staff compliance with regulatory departmental and organizational policies procedures and protocols.

Job Requirements

Successful candidates for the Blood Bank Manager:

• Accredited Program (Required)Clinical Lab Supervisor License (SU LICENSE) State of Florida (FL)
• Intermediate knowledge of laboratory procedures and instrumentation.
• Ability to effectively relate and communicate with internal and external customers.
• Intermediate knowledge of laboratory information systems.
• Requires critical thinking skills effective communication skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Five 5 years of experience as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
• Florida State licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor in the defined area of responsibility.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist program
