Schedule: Monday Friday 8 am to 5 pm
Position Summary:
Coaches will work with the Associate Director of Early Learning Provider Services the local Child Care Aware program staff and the University of Washington (data collection) to deliver onsite technical assistance coaching professional development and consultation to help child care and early learning providersincluding licensed centers and family home providersimprove the quality of their programs in Chelan Douglas Okanogan Ferry Yakima Grant Adams and Kittitas Counties. Early Achievers coaches will assist in the development and implementation to promote readiness based on the needs of the community and in alignment with the overarching program philosophy (school readiness).
Responsibilities:
- Positively promote Early Achievers within the designated counties including building successful relationships with child care providers based on mutual respect
- Assist in the provision of outreach and technical assistance to local Early Achievers as the program expands
- Work collaboratively with Child Care Aware team to ensure optimal provision of all Early Learning Activities
- Effectively deliver content related to quality improvement through skilled observations modeling teaching feedback and mentoring child care providers
- Provide ongoing support training and technical assistance to rated Early Achievers participants
- Work with child care providers to define specific focused and clear goals in the development of quality improvement plans
- Administer designated assessment tools recognize high and lowquality interactions instructional support environments deliver content and resources which guide improvement
- Understand and interpret all components of the Early Achievers ratings
- Collect interpret and use classroom data in the development of quality improvement plans
- Demonstrate and model reflective practices with child care providers
- Demonstrate familiarity with community resources available to child care providers and families in the designated counties
- Comply with all required data collection reporting requirements activities progress reports and other required documentation within the designated timeframe
- Participate in coach framework trainings checks community of practice and other activities to ensure fidelity to the model
- Develop and maintain a schedule for on site visits based upon the program needs in collaboration with the Associate Director of Early Learning Provider Services and Child Care Aware staff
- Attend all required trainings meetings and webinars regarding the coaching framework and other professional development activities
- Maintain confidentiality in all areas of practice including child care providers family and child confidentiality
- Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:

Physical Requirements:
This position normally requires the physical demands of standing walking bending lifting or performing other work requiring low physical exertion as well as keyboard fingering talking hearing and adequate vision on a regular basis to perform the job requirements. These physical demands are required up to 90 of the time.
NonPhysical Requirements:
Education
- Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or related experience required
- Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education preferred
Experience
- 2 years experience working with young children in a group setting
- Previous successful experience providing technical assistance or coaching to child care providers preferred
Special Skills
- Trained and reliable on the PreK and Toddler CLASS within 60days of receiving training
- Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement rating system and experience with Environmental Rating Scales preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practice from birth to 8 years old
- Demonstrated ability to translate training into practice
- Ability to effectively work ononone and in a group child care setting
- Ability to individualize instruction and mentoring for child care providers
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with people of varied social cultural and educational backgrounds
- Applied knowledge of Adult Learning Principles
- Familiarity with local and regional child care providers family and child resources
- Possess good classroom and environmental observation skills
- Ability to recognize high quality instruction and sensitive care giving
- Excellent verbal written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule with travel to child care sites and meetings
- Ability to attend required trainings with ongoing commitment to continuous learning
- Competence with computer technology and data entry
- Valid state approved MERIT/STARS trainer or ability to achieve within 3 months of hire
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) Required
Licensure Registration Certification
- Valid Washington State drivers license and minimum required liability insurance for WA State
- Must be deemed insurable as determined by Catholic Charities liability insurance provider
Employment is conditional upon:
- Being cleared by criminal background check and fingerprinting when required
Wage Range: $21.00 $27.00 per hour
