Medical Assistant / LPN

The Medical Assistant will assist the Physician Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Staff with various aspects of patient care (including clinical clerical environmental and organizational tasks) to ensure our participants satisfaction. In addition to core Medical Assistant responsibilities this position serves as a key person for the provider regarding daytoday workflow issues and office procedures.
Required Education/Certification: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Successful completion of a Medical Assistant program or a national medical assistant certification from a national certifying organization (AMT AAMA NAHP NCCT or NHA) are preferred.
Required Experience: Two years of experience with direct clinical responsibilities as a medical assistant preferred. Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
Required Skills:
Good verbal and written skills
Proficient in Phlebotomy
Proficient in Medication Administration
Proficient in taking vital signs
Proficient with Medical Terminology
Basic computer skills
Experience with Medical Record Documentation
Experience Rooming patients and serving as a liaison for the Provider
Experience performing the clinical duties required as a Medical Assistant
Desired or Preferred Knowledge Skills and/or Abilities:
Able to deliver services in a compassionate responsive and courteous manner.
Dependable resourceful and flexible.
Able to work effectively with staff participants providers and referral sources.
Experience with the geriatric population
