Job Description

The Director of Digital Transformation and Innovation is responsible for leading Augusta Healths digital evolution ensuring that technology and process improvements drive operational excellence enhance patient care and support the organizations strategic objectives. This role supports the CIO in the development and of enterprisewide digital transformation initiatives including process redesign technology adoption and innovation strategies.

The Director collaborates with clinical operational and IT leaders to assess needs identify emerging technologies and implement solutions that improve efficiency user experience and healthcare outcomes. They establish and enforce governance structures to manage digital initiatives prioritize investments and drive a culture of continuous improvement and innovation across Augusta Health.

This position requires expertise in humancentered design process optimization and change management. The Director also plays a principal role in managing vendor relationships evaluating digital health solutions and ensuring that Augusta Health remains at the forefront of healthcare technology advancements.

The Director of Digital Transformation and Innovation plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of Augusta Health by leading enterprisewide digital initiatives that enhance patient outcomes streamline operations and foster innovation. This role requires a visionary leader with a passion for leveraging technology to drive meaningful change in healthcare.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Healthcare Administration Information Technology or a related field required.
  • ITIL4 Foundation Certification required within one year of hire
  • Ten or more years of experience in digital transformation innovation healthcare IT or process improvement.
  • Five or more years of leadership experience including managing crossfunctional teams and complex initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success in leading organizational change improving business processes and leveraging digital tools to enhance efficiency and outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare IT clinical informatics or enterprise system implementation is strongly preferred.

Skills:

  • Strategic Vision and : Ability to develop and drive a digital transformation roadmap aligned with Augusta Healths strategic objectives.
  • Leadership and Influence: Proven ability to engage and inspire teams drive collaboration and build consensus across clinical operational and IT stakeholders.
  • Process Optimization and Innovation: Expertise in applying Lean Six Sigma and humancentered design principles to improve workflows and patient experiences.
  • Change Management: Strong understanding of change management frameworks to facilitate adoption and minimize disruption.
  • Technology Evaluation and Implementation: Ability to assess emerging technologies guide vendor selection and implement scalable sustainable digital solutions.
  • Interoperability and Data Utilization: Understanding of data integration analytics and interoperability standards (HL7 FHIR APIs) to enhance datadriven decisionmaking.
  • Financial Acumen: Experience with business case development budgeting and ROI analysis for technology investments.
  • Regulatory and Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with healthcare regulations (HIPAA 21st Century Cures Act CMS interoperability mandates) and their impact on digital initiatives.
  • Excellent Communication and Facilitation Skills: Ability to translate complex digital concepts into clear actionable strategies for leadership and frontline teams.
