Job Description
In anticipation of future vacancies in the Payroll Division the City of Port Coquitlams Finance Department invites qualified candidates interested in learning more about the role of Payroll Clerk to apply to the following Expression of Interest.
Please consider submitting application if you meet the following qualifications:
Completion or willingness to complete the Payroll Compliance Legislation and Payroll Fundamentals courses from Canadian Payroll Association or equivalent from a recognized postsecondary institute
Two 2 years full time equivalent experience in a clerical payroll or accounting role
70 minimum test score in Microsoft Excel or a successful completion of accredited course in Microsoft Excel 1.5 credits) (applicants would be tested by HR).
The Expression of Interest will require the successful application to complete two weeks of job shadowing in payroll.
To be considered for this Expression of Interest (EOI) an applicant will be required to complete an interview. The purpose of the evaluation will be to assess suitability. Applicants will be asked about their previous payroll or accounting experience computer software experience communication and people skills conflict resolution and customer service experience.
