Job Description

Overview


Using extensive program management knowledge and experience in the drug development industry the Director Program Managementis responsible for delivering cross functional project management excellence to programs across the drug development lifecycle (Research CMC Preclinical and Clinical Development). The Director Program Management carries out the strategic planning and of a program from preclinical through commercialization by driving the development and implementation of integrated project/program plans goals budgets and timelines. This individual is expected to apply expertise in early and late stage drug development as well as deep program management experience to drive of the program strategy for crossfunctional drug development teams.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational program management to one or more crossfunctional program teams directing activities at all stages of the program lifecycle (early mid and late stage development).
  • Partner with team leaders to develop program strategy ensure project objectives are met through integration scheduling cost risk communication and stakeholder management.
  • Drive crossfunctional communication and planning in partnership with the Program Team Leader and other program team members for development of integrated program plans including timelines program status updates and key risks/issues.
  • Oversee and maintain updates to integrated program project timelines including mapping of critical path activities and development of scenarios in partnership with the Program Team and key stakeholders across the organization. Work with the Program Team to identify and track risks as well as develop Risk Mitigation plans.
  • Proactively identify and communicate roadblocks or constraints impacting strategic imperatives or program and in partnership with the Program Team Leader map all program timeline updates including crossfunctional dependencies.
  • Partner with the Program Development Team Lead(s) to align on program strategy goals and milestones that support the overarching corporate objectives.
  • Propose process improvements and opportunities to optimize project results to the Program Team.
  • Oversee successful completion of Program Team deliverables and contribute to content development when appropriate.
  • Responsible for publishing timely updates to the Integrated Program Plan Program Dashboard Risk Register and other PMO deliverables.
  • Partner with Program Team members to establish team operating norms and communication processes.
  • Apply subject matter expertise to support other PMO staff.
  • Must adhere to Iovance Biotherapeutics core values policies procedures and business ethics.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Required Education Skills and Knowledge


  • Bachelors degree in biology biochemistry chemistry or related field.
  • 10 years experience in project management and recent work experience as a Project Manager (including Regulatory CMC or Clinical Project Management) in a Biotech or Pharma company managing development projects.
  • Graduate degree or certification in Project Management (i.e. MBA or PMI certification)
  • Exceptional leadership interpersonal communications negotiation collaboration and virtual management skills. Comfortable leading project teams across multiple locations and time zones.
  • Proven expertise in effectively applying and/or developing advanced project management tools and methodologies.
  • Communicates effectively with and influences all levels of the organization.
  • Requires excellent internal and external collaboration and influencing skills and the ability to lead diverse cross functional virtual teams.
  • Master user of MS Office Suite and Smartsheet

Preferred Education Skills and Knowledge

  • Knowledge in immunooncology biologics or cellbased therapy highly desirable.
  • PMP/PMI Certification
