Job Description

Summary

In this position you will be responsible for managing the Accounts Payable team and International Invoice Processing Team in processing the firms cash disbursements ensuring compliance with IRS guidelines and safeguarding firm assets through fraud prevention and internal controls.

You will oversee the Accounts Payable Supervisor International Invoice Team supervisor and Accounts Payable Senior team members while leading the overall larger team through departmental goal setting performance tracking and longterm growth strategies.

You will also be responsible for the development and management of the departmental budget and maintenance of the contracts for AP resources. You will project manage RFP implementation or testing efforts with regard to systems selection implementation or modifications.

You will act as a point of escalation for issues and vendor/internal customer relationships and as a liaison to firm leadership for notable updates.

Location

This position is located in our Reston Washington D.C. Baltimore Atlanta or Tampa offices and offers a hybrid work schedule.


Responsibilities

  • Supervises Accounts Payable staff to include training development and evaluation of performance.

  • Monitors daily workflow to ensure balance consistency and productivity among Accounts Payable staff.

  • Monitors Accounts Payable systems performance and serves as liaison for testing and troubleshooting.

  • Promotes workflow automation and quality control.

  • Fosters positive relationships with internal and external customers fielding inquiries and responding to issues.

  • Proactively evaluates customer and vendor experience in interactions with the AP team and works to eliminate areas of inefficiency or dissatisfaction

  • Acts as the point of contact to firm leadership and other departmental leaders where Accounts Payable support outside of payment processing is needed (e.g. OGC documentation requests Audit support Insurance underwriting etc.

  • Develops and manages the Accounts Payable budget to include tracking expenses vs approved budget contract review and renewals and financial forecasting

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Provides leadership to and manages a team of business professionals to include coaching mentoring and professional development. Responsible for providing performance feedback on a regular basis.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required. Must have strong communication and organizational skills. Excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills. Professional demeanor displayed at all times in any workrelated activity. Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced environment.


Minimum Education

  • Associates Degree


Preferred Education

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting


Minimum Years of Experience

  • 4 years in prior supervisory experience in a professional services environment preferred. Accounts Payable or related experience required preferably in a law firm environment.

Physical Demands
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects including the human body. The firms expected hiring range for this position is $92637 $128592 per year depending on the candidates geographic market location.

The compensation offered for employment will also be dependent on other factors including the candidates experience skills educational and professional background and overall qualifications. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k).
