ABOUT INUVIALUIT REGIONAL CORPORATION (IRC)

IRC was created in 1984 to represent the Inuvialuit and their rights and benefits obtained under one of Canadas oldest comprehensive land claim agreements. With assets over $1 billion not including vast land holdings IRC is responsible for corporate investment land management and a broad range of social cultural and economic programs and services benefiting Inuvialuit. Its subsidiaries have interests in grocery manufacturing property management transportation and significant dealings in the oil and gas industry.

Combining local government and service delivery community development investment and operating business divisions all managed by a single back office the organization has an array of complexities for the executive staff to navigate. JOB SUMMARY


Reporting to the Payroll Analyst the Payroll Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and processing the payroll for ICG employees ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role requires meticulous attention to detail strong organizational skills and the ability to handle confidential information. A focus on client service adhering to service standards and excellent use of judgment is key to this role.


QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must be/have:

  • Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation (or equivalent designation) AND two 2 or more years of experience in payroll processing or a related field;

OR

  • Five 5 or more years of experience in payroll processing or a related field AND a willingness to obtain Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation within 2 years of start date with the support of IRCs career development funding.

Preference may be given to candidates with the following:

  • Postsecondary education in Accounting Finance or a related field.
  • Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) designation.
  • Experience with systems such as ADP Microsoft Dynamics ERP BambooHR Dayforce.
  • Experience working in a northern or remote environment.
