The Test Departments role is to identify all issues within our products before we launch them. As such the Protocol Development Test Engineer (PDTE) Coop will be the pioneers of innovation by ensuring our new technologies meet the high demands of our consumers. The position focus is on developing new test. By standing as the voice of the consumer it will be the job of the PDTE I to identify new methods of testing as it relates to performance and safety of the product. There is a high degree of interaction with the Engineering and Product Development teams in this role which will require the PDTE I to stand strong for the quality of the product while challenging cross functional design assumptions.

Responsibilities

• You will represent the voice of the consumer by developing protocols/tests that evaluate product requirements against targets set by Product Development.

• Learn how to be the protocol/test/safety/performance standards expert for crossfunctional team member questions and concerns.

• Learn to identify and work with Internal/External SMEs across multiple engineering disciplines.

• Present status of activities and special projects to the Testing team regularly.

• Takes an active role (independently and in teams) to identify and potentially solve technical issues found in the development of a product.

• Collaborate to help establish a projects user design and functional requirements by delivering robust test protocols then helping to validate through testing and building consensus on next steps.

• Support and learn protocol development throughout conception CAD prototyping and verification whilst consistently working at a fast pace & successfully develops team to do the same.

• Works closely with our Engineering teams on design approaches to create testing rigs to evaluate product performance.

• Run competitive product analyses giving your business partners insight into how Shark stacks up against the competition.

Requirements

• BSEE BSME or similar technical discipline major

• Prior experience designing or analyzing electromechanical systems

• Excellent oral and written communication tocreate reports write business correspondence & develop procedures

• Change agent with energy passion and enthusiasm to drive change

• Analytical problem solving and rootcause analysis skills

• Ability to multitask and handle tasks with competing priorities effectively

• Handson building of prototypes experimental testing of some sort either in the workshop or in a science context.

• Proficient in all MS Office

Desired Attributes:

• Experience using JIRA or other project management tools

• Experience using Minitab or equivalent stats software

• 3D Modeling

• Model shop experience

• Experience with any of the following: Arduino RaspberryPi scripting (including Python)

• Knowledge of setting up Design of Experiments.

• Data analysis around general statistics (Tukey Range Ttests etc.

• Ability to design and assemble full scale test fixtures
