Location: Toronto ON (Teaching will be delivered inperson on campus 443 University Ave)

Description:

ILSCToronto is seeking qualified and dynamic ESL Teachers available to work mornings 8.30 am 1.00 pm) Monday to Friday in a friendly fastpaced environment. Schedules may include teaching between the hours of 8:30 am and 5:15 pm based on student demand. You will teach ILSCs diverse range of English programs and courses to adult learners.

ILSC offers English language courses in the following general and specialized areas:

• Communication
• Creative and Cultural English courses (ie. English Through Films English Through Arts English Through Music)
• Business English
• Academic English
• Test Preparation (IELTS Cambridge exams)
• Junior Programs (teaching students aged 1317 JuneAugus

Job Duties:

Teachers prepare lessons designed to increase students language skills their accuracy and fluency appropriate to a broad range of situations and needs and in accordance with the ILSC Curriculum Guidelines and Course Outlines.High quality delivery is expected.

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

• elicitingstudents interests and language needs in an organized way
• assessingstudents language needs and planning lessons in accords with ILSC Course Curriculum and Student Progress Reports for the level being taught
• selectingappropriate materials and resources (including ILSC online resources)
• usingmaterials effectively
• creatingan atmosphere that encourages all students equally in self expression selfreflection cooperation and leadership
• planningoutings that reflect the experiential aspect of language and culture
• evaluatingprogress (ongoing) and conferring with students individually according to the specifics outlined in the Monthly Progress Report
• teaching lessons prepared by the classroom teacher utilizing various materials and technologies as required
• leaving details for the teacher when finished covering the class to support a smooth transition back tot he classroom teacher
• maintains current and accurate class records including daily attendance records into computerized database
  
• other related duties as assigned

Essential Qualifications Skills and Attributes:

All ESL teachers at ILSC must possess the following qualifications.

• a completedBachelors degree from a recognised university
• a completed TESL certificate recognized by TESL Canada (or equivalent e.g. CELTA)
• previous teaching experience either in Canada or overseas
• ability to communicate fluently and accurately in written and oral English
• demonstrated proficiency with current technology tools and online learning platforms including:
  • Microsoft Office Suite specifically Outlook Teams Sharepoint and Excel
• demonstrated ability to deal effectively and courteously with students and staff who may come from differing cultural and linguistic backgrounds
• demonstrated ability to prioritize organize and complete tasks with minimal supervision
