Job Description
THE ROLE
We are seeking a Swissqualified Corporate Legal Counsel for a global financial services company based in Switzerland. The successful candidate will provide legal advice on Swiss corporate law and market listing rules. The role will also involve supporting sustainability initiatives navigating ESG regulatory requirements and addressing corporate governance matters. Fluency in English and German is essential for this position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide legal counsel on Swiss corporate law
- Advise on corporate legal obligations related to market listing rules and develop policies to manage ESGrelated legal risks
- Collaborate with Legal & Compliance Risk Management and business units to ensure alignment with ESG objectives and compliance requirements
- Assist in the development of groupwide ESG reporting frameworks and deliver training on ESGrelated legal matters
- Identify and manage legal risks in multijurisdictional contexts offering strategic guidance to business units
- Law degree with qualification to practice in Switzerland
- Experience in ESG and sustainability legal practice ideally gained in a law firm or international financial institution
- Knowledge of EU Swiss and international ESG legal frameworks and corporate reporting standards
- Demonstrated leadership and project management skills
- Ability to work effectively within diverse multifunctional and multicultural teams
- Fluent in English and German with excellent written and verbal communication skills
