Who are we looking for

Our Water business in Hyannis MA is looking for a Senior Technicianto coordinate manage and schedule our staff of Resident Project Representatives (RPRs) and work with clients to quickly respond to changing needs and assignments. As a Senior Technician you will work directly with GHD project managers engineers and clients to administer construction projects from initiation to project closeout.

Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Monitoring contractor performance and compliance with engineering drawings and specifications on a variety of construction projects
  • Assisting in management of multiple construction projects at a given time and prepare construction progress reports for all projects on a weekly basis.
  • Serving as a resource and point of contact for questions and issues arising from construction projects
  • Performing RPR services on utility line and facility projects; inspection of construction sites to ensure proper quality control and coordinate with client and GHD project management staff
  • Assisting with/conduct preconstruction and progress meetings take minutes and make construction site visits
  • Assisting in the development of design phase services for utility lines and other municipal engineering projects. Provide information necessary for detailed design and prepare designs and specifications when required.
  • Assisting in preparation of construction cost estimates and proposals
  • Closeout projects and manage construction asbuilt information.
  • Providing input concerning constructability and biddably during design and developing project construction schedules and budgets
  • Overseeing Contractors compliance with all requirements of project design specifications and drawings via onsite inspection staff
  • Reviewing pay estimates making appropriate recommendations to Project Manager on payment issues.
  • Providing document control including processing project correspondence documents and drawings. Preparing various technical reports
  • Managing onsite inspection staff
  • Scheduling inspection staff for other GHD projects
  • Providing appropriate responses and/or recommendations to Owner on construction issues; consulting with engineering staff on all technical matters; notifying all parties of issues that impact critical path schedule
  • Conducting and coordinating project closeout
  • Assisting with equipment and process startup testing and observation of training and optimization

What you will bring to the team:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience working on municipal construction projects with utility line and facility construction projects including water wastewater facilities stormwater preferred.
  • Associates degree in Engineering Technology Construction Management or similar a plus.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Willing and able to travel throughout Eastern Massachusetts primarily throughout Cape Cod and South Shore although may be required to travel throughout New England on a limited basis.
  • Ability to perform job duties with little or no supervision.
