The Opportunity:
In this fully remote position you as the Generative AI Full Stack Developerwill work with eCornells product management team software development team and internal and external stakeholders to maintain and enhance existing software and to design develop and deliver new software within the eCornell software stack using modern software engineering tools and practices.
The Full Stack Developer is tasked with the primary responsibility of integrations with eCornells systems such as our LMS Canvas Destiny Salesforce ETL and less of the typical full stack developer responsibilities in web app development. In addition Fullstack Developer works with the support team and endusers to troubleshoot and resolve customer and internally reported software defects and technical issues.
As a member of an agile squad the Full Stack developer adheres to practices and standards set by communities of practice and contributes to a culture of continuous improvement.
You are considered competitive for this position if you are:
Technical Expertise in developing applications with Generative AI and LLMs such as GPT Claude or Gemini and demonstrated experience with Python.
Excellent with followup and followthrough ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision.
Customercentric in your approach with strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with faculty staff and eCornell departments.
Adaptable flexible and you exercise patience and curiosity in navigating complex issues with a high level of confidentiality and good judgment.
What You Will Do:
Participate in fullcycle software development efforts from ideation through deployment in a dynamic and fastpaced business environment.
Collaborate with product and design teams to translate user requirements into technical implementations.
Develop and integrate Generative AI applications into our platform leveraging LLMs and related technologies.
Support continuous innovation by integrating new features and optimizing existing functionalities.
Recommend product revisions or enhancements based on user feedback.
Document software to support collaborative development and ease of updates. Document design using Google docs Confluence.
Perform system tuning optimization of information/data processing maintenance and support of the production environment as necessary
What You Will Need:
Bachelors degree in CS or equivalent and 57 years of relevant application software development work experience in a fastpaced webbased software development environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven expertise in developing applications with Generative AI and LLMs such as GPT Claude or Gemini.
Proficiency with frameworks such as LangChain embedding workflows and vector databases.
Experience with Python for backend development and tools like LangGraph and Agentic AI.
Familiarity with RESTful APIs.
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
Understanding of issuetracking systems such as Jira.
Experience in unit testing verification and validation.
Proven ability to work be adaptive and resourceful in a dynamic fastpaced customerfocused work environment characterized by rapid change minimal lead times and multiple competing priorities.
Excellent analytical organizational and communication (written and oral) skills; expert interpersonal skills; ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with customers stakeholders and staff at all levels of the organization.
Selfmotivated ability to work independently and as part of a team be adaptive to critical needs and share expertise as needed demonstrating accountability openness and transparency.
Demonstrated aptitude to stay current on new and emerging technologies.
Action and results oriented with a positive customer service attitude.

Experience with finetuning LLMs.
Familiarity with OpenAI APIs and additional AI frameworks.
Experience in education technology.
Familiarity with Amazon Web Services is a significant plus.

This position is based in Ithaca New York however the successful applicant may perform this role remotely anywhere within the United States. The New York Convenience of employer guidelines require New York State individual tax reporting and withholdings for this position.
