Job Description

Clinical Laboratory Coordinator

HematoLogics is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Coordinator to join our team onsite at our clinical laboratory facilities located on the Seattle waterfront. The CLC position has a unique place within our team. CLCs provide comprehensive and meaningful support to our laboratory staff and administrative team. The CLCs who join our team gain valuable experience in seeing up close how these different components operate within a clinical laboratory that has the highest standards for patient care.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Comprehensive management of client phone calls including skillful handling of complex medical inquiries requiring thorough assessment skills and knowledge of appropriate laboratory specimen testing requirements
  • Coordination of receiving process in partnership with administrative support team (i.e. FedEx UPS local couriers)
  • Receiving and accessioning of patient specimens including preparation of initial panel(s) for flow cytometry analysis and creation of aliquot tubes for other technologies as necessary
  • Triage of testing in highly complex situations necessitating client communication
  • Review of test requisitions for appropriate demographics and test orders prior to accessioning
  • Creation of flowbased sort reports
  • Processing of paraffin block/slide returns
  • Performing laboratory support duties including filing specimen label making unpacking supplies collating/labeling slides or files for staff hematopathologists pelleting scanning set up forms etc. with direction from the team lead and/or director
  • Support billing processes including providing CPT code(s) to clients as requested
  • Maintaining laboratory inventory and checking in laboratory supplies
  • Scanning of documents and paperwork for report finalization as required
  • Perform various aspects of the wet lab processes as permitted and as directed by lead and/or director
  • Prepare and label reagents perform the appropriate quality control and document daily performance criteria of reagents and equipment
  • Full knowledge of and adherence to the laboratorys quality assurance policies including documentation of quality assurance activities
  • Quality management activities and responsibilities under direction of the designated lead
  • Comply with company policies and procedures
  • Aliquoting of specimens for sections as appropriate under the direction of lead/director to be adjusted to appropriate skill level and experience
  • Managing study archive overview and associated data entry responsibilities
  • Weekday onsite shift Monday through Friday (will include Saturday rotations as scheduled with commensurate time off); Shift hours: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (may be subject to change with notice and is determined by assigned duties).

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelors degree in a chemical physical or biological science is strongly preferred. An Associate of Science degree and/or equivalent professional experience will be considered.
  • A strong fit for this position will be applicants who have an ability to provide a high level of attention to detail and demonstrates consistent excellence in organizational skills and time management.

Consistent fulltime physical presence at our Seattle laboratory is an essential job function of this role. This is a fully onsite position.

Compensation & Benefits:

The base annual salary range for this position is $$67000$83000. The salary offered will be based on the candidates experience qualifications job market considerations and internal equity. This is a fulltime exempt salaried position.

Hematologics offers a competitive total compensation package that includes medical dental and vision insurance with 100 of the monthly premium cost for the employee paid by the company and 50 of the monthly premium cost paid by the company for dependents/spouses/partners. Hematologics also provides long term disability coverage for all fulltime employees with 100 of the monthly premiums paid by the company. The opportunity for 401K investment is provided to employees the first full month after they start with Hematologics providing up to 6 match at the 6month tenure mark and beyond. Employees are immediately vested in our 401K. Hematologics offers up to $1000 per calendar year tuition reimbursement. PTO (sick time) and vacation are provided on an accrual basis. At 1 year tenure the hired applicant will accrue 12 days of vacation and 8 days of PTO (sick time). Employees will also receive 11 paid holidays throughout the calendar year. The hired applicant will be eligible to receive biannual profitsharing bonuses prorated by start date.
