Position Overview

Hutcheon & Pearce is looking for a skilled and driven Service Manager based out of our Tamworth branch to lead both our Tamworth and Quirindi Service Teams to success. In this role youll take charge of the service departments ensuring toptier customer satisfaction while driving profitable service labor sales and maintaining expense control.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Leadership and Management: Oversee daily service department operations ensuring efficient workflow and timely completion of repairs and maintenance. Lead and mentor your team through ongoing supervision training and biannual performance reviews offering feedback to foster growth. Support recruitment and staffing efforts for your department.
  • Customer Service: Develop and maintain longterm relationships and assist in handling customer complaints and inquiries.
  • Service Operations: Assist in the management of schedules and work orders. Ensure the service department maintains accurate records of repairs warranty claims Product Improvement Program (PIP) claims and maintenance activities.
  • Financial Performance: Monitor and manage service department budgets. Track department performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Service Efficiency Labor Performance and customer satisfaction scores.
  • Safety and Compliance: Lead by example ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols and PPE requirements. Conduct regular safety audits (Take 5s SWMS Prestart Checklists) through our Safety Management System and ensure tools equipment and vehicles are wellmaintained and compliant.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with the Parts and Sales departments to ensure the availability of required parts and facilitate smooth communication regarding customer needs. Coordinate with the Branch Manager and other departments to align service operations with overall business goals. Attend service management meetings and provide regular updates on department performance. Participate in customer clinics field days and related promotional events.

About You:

  • 3 years of experience in Service Department operations.
  • Qualifications in HV Diesel Mechanics or similar are essential.
  • Strong ability to use Microsoft software applications prior experience using JD applications is beneficial.
  • Strong ability to communicate and lead effectively to individuals and groups.
  • Familiar with John Deere and competitive products beneficial.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret internal reports.
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends.
