Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Department of Arts & Cultural Programs is responsible for programming the arts and cultural presentations of City Parks Foundation which encompasses SummerStage SummerStage Kids Charlie Parker Jazz Festival the Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre and CityParks PuppetMobile.
We offer meaningful internship experiences providing assistance to our Arts & Cultural programs team to prepare for the upcoming season of NYCs marquee outdoor music festival. Interns will gain handson experience in diverse areas while helping the fulltime staff execute a variety of initiatives. We are seeking upbeat organized individuals to provide administrative and clerical support to the Operations staff with the daytoday general virtual and inperson office duties as well as support inperson live events during the 2025 season. This position encompasses Finance Administration Human Resources and Front of House functionalities. This internship is a great experience for undergraduate/graduate students interested in the general working of an arts nonprofit organization.

COMPENSATION: $17/hour

SCHEDULE: June 1 2025 to August 29 2025 (flexible)

15 20hrs / week (schedule to be determined with supervisor within working hours of Monday Friday 10am 6pm; inperson either Wednesday or Thursday; virtual work for remaining schedule)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Answer general email lines and provide information to patrons
  • Maintain organization of Google Drive
  • Create/maintain spreadsheets related to 2025 Arts and Cultural programs
  • Assist with reconciling payroll and accounts payable expenses
  • Assist with fulfilling ticket requests for in person shows
  • Assist with basic ticketing reports
  • Data entry
  • Create standard operating procedures as assigned
  • Miscellaneous research and presentation preparation projects as assigned
  • Complete office restocking administrative and filing duties as necessary
  • Assist with developing operational plans for SummerStages 2025 season

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have completed sophomore year of college
  • Must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have working knowledge of Google Apps (Drive Gmail Sheets and Docs)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel Microsoft Access a plus
  • Must be detailoriented and have strong organizational skills
  • Experience performing administrative tasks
  • Ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment
  • Ability to meet changing deadlines
  • Knowledge of basic accounting methods
  • Teamoriented attitude
  • Must be open to evolving responsibilities
  • Must be available to work 10 hours per week
  • Must be available to work 1 day in person (Wed or Thu)
